Tugging on Emotions

Lets face it! Most people in their lives had that one car that they truly loved. That one car that they wish they could have back. Most people never took a great photo of that car or it is so old and faded that they couldn't do anything with it. My dad always told me of that car we had when I was little that he really loved and wishes he never traded in. If he wanted to buy that car now it would cost him about $70,000. If I had that kind of money I would buy him one now that he is getting closer to 80 years old. I couldn't buy him one, but I could do an illustration of one and send it to him for Father's Day. My mom said he cried when he opened it and unrolled the print. I just wished I could have been there to see it. It now hangs on his wall in his office for him to see every day. This is what I want to help bring to others. I know there are people out there that would love this.

Sometimes a car is just a little more than transportation from point A to point B. I know because I have owned cars like that. I have friends that are like that. I want to make people smile when they see my work, think back to those days that they drove that car. They may not be able to afford one anymore, but they could have an illustration of one.

Think of that old Cadillac that your uncle had that he washed and waxed every weekend, or that 70 LeMans that your dad sold to help pay for your college tuition. I'm sure they would love it just to be able to look at it again. I would! So maybe for his birthday you would want to give him something special that he would love, beyond the tie or golf shirt..... Give him his old car back.

My Dad's 1960 Buick LeSabre convertible. (Or at least the $70,000 version)
