1970 Oldsmobile 442 - Framed 18x24 Print

The 1970 Olds 442 was the pinnacle of performance from Oldsmobile. GM dropped the regulation of no more than 400ci, so Olds responded with the Olds 455 V8 as the standard engine! Output was 365 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque with a 370 hp variant available with the W-30 option.
With the new engine and revised styling, the Indianapolis 500 came knocking requesting pace car services. 
The W-30 package included a fiberglass hood with functional hood scoops and low-restriction air cleaner, aluminum intake manifold, special camshaft, cylinder heads, distributor, and carburetor. 
A Rallye 350 model became available and not only came with the smaller 350ci, it also had an extremely unique look. The body was painted a bright Sebring Yellow, and both the wheels and the bumpers were the same color. Orange and black accents were added to the hood scoops and trunk-lid spoilers of the car. 
To distinguish a 442 as a 1970 look for vertical bars in silver grille, rectangular parking lights in front bumper, and vertical taillights.
